William “Billy” Sweeny is special counsel at Pierce, Sloan, Kennedy & Early LLC where his practice focuses on catastrophic injury litigation, products liability, and commercial litigation. He also serves clients in regulatory and financial matters. Billy’s practice is motivated by the principle that skillful courtroom presentation and favorable dispute resolution are achieved through effective communication with the client. He enjoys being a litigation attorney and welcomes the opportunity to demonstrate his commitment to achieving client goals.
Experience
Billy is an experienced litigation attorney who has handled matters involving products liability, industrial incidents, commercial disputes, insurance coverage, government regulation and taxation. He has worked in Germany for a major European energy trading company where he supported the senior legal counsel and chief compliance officer. He went on to prosecute corporate tax and State regulation cases at every level of trial and appeal for the Office of Counsel for Litigation at the South Carolina Department of Revenue. Billy moved to Charleston in 2012 where he became partner at a longstanding South Carolina business litigation firm prior to joining Pierce, Sloan, Kennedy & Early LLC.
